Visit to Negin Bandar Abbas Petro-refinery Project by the Deputy Head of the Department of Environment for Marine Affairs; Strategic Synergy for Responsible Industrial Development in Bandar Abbas.
In line with the objectives of sustainable development and with the aim of ensuring the highest possible level of compliance between the implementation of the country’s major refining projects and modern environmental standards, Negin Bandar Abbas Petro-refinery project site hosted a high-level delegation from the country’s environmental authorities.
During the field visit, Dr. Lahijan Zadeh, Deputy Head of the Department of Environment for Marine Affairs, accompanied by a team of senior specialists and experts in the field, as well as relevant authorities and senior provincial officials, visited the project site. Their presence demonstrated the strategic cooperation between senior management of the petro-refining industry and the country’s environmental authorities in safeguarding the health and integrity of the Persian Gulf’s coastal ecosystem.
 
 The Convergence of Industry and the Environment: A Necessity for the Future
 
The meeting, held with the objective of conducting a comprehensive assessment of modern approaches and preventive solutions for marine ecosystem management, focused on the following key areas:
 
Assessment of Ecological Capacities: A detailed assessment of the region’s environmental sensitivities and an examination of how the site’s implementation plans align with international standards for the protection of marine ecosystems.    
 
Synergy in Project Strategic Management: Facilitating implementation processes through constructive engagement with provincial authorities and leveraging the specialized expertise of environmental assessment teams to minimize environmental risks.
 
Adoption of Leading Approaches: Emphasis on the deployment of innovative technologies in areas such as real-time monitoring, wastewater management, and advanced wastewater treatment facilities as integral components of the project’s engineering and implementation processes.
 
Management Approach: Development Without Environmental Degradation
 
On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Arsalan Abdpour, CEO of Negin Bandar Abbas Petro-refinery, expressed his appreciation for the presence of Dr. Lahijan Zadeh and the accompanying delegation. He emphasized the Company’s preventive and proactive approach to environmental protection and stated:

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that a joint working group comprising the Company’s specialists and experts from the Department of Environment would be established to closely monitor the project’s technical processes and environmental considerations. This working group will ensure that all stages of site development and project implementation proceed in accordance with the most stringent environmental protection protocols and with the maximum possible cooperation of provincial and national regulatory authorities.
 
This strategic initiative reaffirms the firm commitment of the senior management of Negin Bandar Abbas Petro-refinery to advancing the principles of “Clean Development.” It represents a significant step toward establishing the project as a benchmark for environmentally responsible and sustainable industrial development in the country.
